If you are just using bluetooth, I'd skip all that head unit bullsh*t alltogether and get a dayton dsp with a bluetooth dongle.    SQ wise out the box is already better than my 80 prs tuned. With proper tuning it just get massively better.

This is prob the best choice. However, to answer the OP, the HU will only be as good as its source unit, so if you have a shitty file or storage unit, then no matter how much money you spend, the HU will still output shitty sound.
