    • RE is old news. Get a pair of sundown SA 12s on a 2k amp and you will be happy. Don’t get a prefab box. Get a nice box made that’s like at least 2.5cubes per woofer. JL still makes nice stuff
    • Alright, when I got my first ride when I was 18 I did a bunch of research here before buying my setup. I ended up with 2 12" Resonant Engineering SE's with a 1200 rms RE amp powering them, which I got super cheap when we did a group order through here as a forum. I did some research just now and it doesn't really look like anyone sells the RE's anymore, even in their new SEX line, is there anyone comparable to look into/ what happened to RE? everyone on here was really high on them back in the day. Also, i had a JL audio 300/2 amp that i used for my front component speakers. the amp actually still works great 13 years later, and I want another one, but it appears they changed their line as well. If anyone could point me to their closest current model amp with around the same rms to a pair of front components thatd be great. I know my terminology is loose, thanks for bearing with me.
    • I just installed the Alpine iLx-W650 in my car yesterday, and I’m quite impressed so far. The FM reception is good. Although I didn’t listen long. I mainly use Android Auto and it is very responsive. I already have a full system with DSP, so I haven’t messed with any of the sound settings. I left it flat. But I can tell you that this head unit blows my old one away in terms of sound quality. And the bass is much stronger.
    • Why not use a regular 120V inverter, then plug the Alesis's 120V power supply into that?    It looks like what you're wanting isn't available as an off the shelf product that I can find, so I'd just go with a regular inverter to avoid the hassle of building a 9V version.
    • I cant move anything from where it is. landlord doesnt allow anything blocking easy access to the windows for "safety" reasons. so I cant move everything to where the bass hits the hardest because its right in front of the windows in the opposite corner of my room from where im sitting. my desk is really big. and moving just my subwoofers over there wont help anything because i'll still be in a null/cancellation spot so more power is my only option unless they change their rules about stuff being in front of the windows.
