Not a bad price for them, but for $1000 you would have been better off with 4 Sundown audio SA-8s or 3 X-8s. I'm sure the system will sound good as long as the install isn't God-awful and that's really all that matters. Finding a good installer is really difficult now. You can't just slap a speaker in a car door and call it good. You also can't just slap 6 squares of wood together and call it an enclosure. If you are being sold $2k-4k worth of equipment, your installation cost is going to be at least another 1500 if they are doing it properly. Deadener, sound isolation, wire, distro blocks, Fuses, MDF for the enclosure and speaker rings, all of these things are important for a good sounding system. I have probably 6 hours of work into each of my doors alone. Adding deadener, closed cell foam, wrapping wires so they don't rattle, sealing holes, etc. If you got a 3 way setup, you now have to either add pods to your dash, or use the poorly placed factory location. A good sounding system is 80 percent install, 20 percent gear. It's taken me 10 years or so to justify spending more than a few hundred bux on a set of speakers or more than 500 on an amp. If I had paid someone to do the work on my car, I would be out an easy 10 grand. If you were closer to Central Florida, I would gladly throw a small sub in my un-finished jetta and give you a demo of a "properly" installed, tuned, and isolated system. This is a hobby, we need to teach people more and talk down to them less. Matt
