    help with amp...

It should still work fine with 4 gauge. The problem is something else. Maybe a bad remote signal or bad amp.

    help with amp...

Were the speakers connected when this happened? What ohm are they and were they wired series/parallel? What size is the power cable? What is the voltage at the amp? Sounds defective to me, or maybe a bad connection, low remote wire voltage, low battery voltage.

need help with IB woofer please

I have 2 ID8's IB in my rear deck with about 220RMS to them. They work well. ID says all of their subs can work well IB.

    Quick run through. (help)

Yes, it's best to do the inside also, both panels if you can. And cover up any holes in the panel the speaker mounts to.

    Quick run through. (help)

Sounds right. Your HU was powering your midbass and tweeters I assume. Do this for each channel (one left, one right): Bridged amp + and - connects to + and - input on the crossover that came with your components. From the crossover there should be 2 sets of + and - outputs, one for the...

    acceptable voltage drop

Voltage drop is caused by resistance in the wire, which is directly proportional to the length of the entire circuit. So a shorter ground of the same gauge should have less drop assuming the contact point is good. Though sometimes to troubleshoot interference / alt wine issues a longer ground...

    acceptable voltage drop

I agree, or "10 wire", "10 2" etc. And to the OP, try and ignore the lame comments. Of course some people wouldn't want to ruin a classic car by putting a modern radio up front, especially if it's a show car. Yes this voltage drop is a bit much. The 4 should take car of that for the amp, and...

    Speaker Help

My guess is your clipping the amp. How did you set your gains on the amp? It should be done with a voltmeter and test tone cd. Also how far up is the volume on the headunit when it starts to sound bad? Most headunits start to clip the preout signal at around 3/4 volume. So basically you want...

    Speaker Help

You could be clipping the amp or the HU's preouts, or overpowering the speakers. What speakers and amp is it? They should all be high passed too since you have the sub.

    this is sick!

In the first post it's Bassotronics - Bass, I Love You. It has some sub 20Hz bass in it.

If it has svideo or composite outputs this will work too.

How to change rca outs to VGA (pc monitor) in...

The DVD output is probably component so you would probably need a component to VGA converter box (not VGA to component).

    best way to wire this?

Most component speakers are 4ohms. Most 4 channel amps when bridged can power down to a 4ohm load, so it's a good way to get maximum power out of an amp and yes a 4 channel bridged can power one set of speakers. Usually you can use one set of rca's (1 left, 1 right plug) with a y-splitter at the...
