Try going into your settings and look for system sounds. You may be able to adjust it there. Or, you can go into your phone settings, look for Apps, select you text app and turn off the notification for text. Good Luck.

Can we assume that it's approximately 13 years old?? I would replace the unit. If you don't have the skill set, Best Buy charges $79.99 for installation. Just a suggestion.

As previously stated, very difficult. Have you. ruled out the large screen android units. They don't retract completely, but you can move them.

MDF for me. I've had my enclosure, that house 2 -12 inch subs for around 7 years. covered it with speaker cover carpeting. No humidity or moisture issues. Even if I could afford wood, I would have used MDF. Good luck with your project. Enjoy.

Why not look at the specs for your head unit and set the gain on your amp to match?

Caution: Find out the output of your head unit (check specifications) and match to the gain setting on your amp. The gain setting is not a volume control. If it still is not hitting, you have other issues.

I like Firefox, because it's free, has a free office suite, and photo processing software. I especially like the free programs that allow you to download music from YouTube and save it to copy to CD/DVD or USB Flash drives. I apologize for getting sidetracked, but I really like Fire Fox.

I look at the specifications for the HU output and matching it with the amplifier input. This has always worked for me. I purchase speakers that my amplifier is rated for and let "mother nature" figure out the rest.

That's a lot of money for a sub. Why not stick to the Polk brand. I had a 10" in a Mustang several years ago and it worked fine. Have you considered a 8"? Polk makes some good equipment. Also go to Crutchfield.com to look at reviews on subs.
