Bingo. The more accurate the subwoofer produces the signal, with the least ammount of distortion, blooming and coloration added.

SBrands/subs specializing or geared more towards SQ: JL Morel Hertz Fi Q ID SSA ICON So are some of the best ones right off of the top of my head. Hard to go wrong with any one from that list.

1000/1 may be too much for W3's. Watch your settings and volume. W6's yes, and you'll get better SQ. IDQ's would be a great choice as well. Don't have much experience with the other two you mentioned.

It's very hard to go wrong with Morel, Hertz or ID. Flip a coin twice. All very good speakers.

Go with JL spec. The specs for their boxes maximize what their subs are intended to do. If you want to go lower, then a sub designed to be better at lower frequencies may be what you want. As others have said, try ported. If you like the SQ from the W6, ported will increase the out put. If it...

I have a 13W6v2 in a custom ported enclosure built to JL spec running off of a 500/1. It sounds great, and is plenty loud (for my tastes.) I haven't metered it, but based off of another Set-up I had, I'd say it's easily in the 120's. For one SQ sub on 500 watts, that's pretty **** good to me...
