You're more likely to blow a sub from under powering it than over powering it. How fast are you cooking these subs? Does your amp have an input sensitivity switch? If it does and it's not set properly then you'll fry the coils in as fast as minutes.

If I were you, I'd just get a good 2 channel amp for the comps and continue running the coax's of the deck.
