(January-February 2013 Winner!) Review:
I recently found myself in need of mid-range 6.5's after foolishly setting the HPF too low for my CDT COM-6 mids. They were paired with CDT TW-25 tweeters. This was my first and, previously, only components (I have heard, but not owned, many sets though). I bought them used, and they performed admirably considering the amount of power I had them running on. In fact, I was so impressed by those entry level CDT's that I was dead set on obtaining a more capable set of mids from them. However, after being introduced to the set I'm reviewing, I ultimately decided to try them... (continued)

Well Well, I haven't reviewed anything in a while. One of the things I have reviewed the most for those who have kept track (yeah no one has) is definitely small foot print 4 channels. This time around It's the smallest I have had the pleasure to handle yet.
Let’s get to it.
About the Nano bits. These are no longer made at the same build house that massive has used before (SoundMagus) and these particular models are said to be massive exclusives. These are not a replacement for the similarly named nano's that are more traditional class AB, they are a whole new line that is smaller still and more efficient because it is full range class D.
The difference with the nano bits vs other class D's as you will see is how small they are... (continued)

Just received my 8400 from Crutchfield yesterday. Got it as an Open Box item and saved myself about 100 bucks even figuring the harness adapter I needed for my 2006 Passat ($130...got it for $65 because I ordered the HU). Was pleasantly surprised to find some of the cables in the wiring harness had printed labels on them; took out a lot of guesswork when wiring it to the harness adapter. Big ups to Pioneer for this one considering this was my first install. Current configuration of my Passat is all stock. Pack-ins are fairly impressive. The box comes with a trim plate, wiring harness, mounting screws, a neoprene case... (continued)

You must, must, MUST read the manual to figure out the settings on this deck. Things that were simple on the HU I replaced (Eclipse CD7200 mkii) are impossible to find with out reading. The deck is designed around an active crossover setup, and the default settings are geared to an active setup. The first mistake Pioneer made was how to access the most basic audio configuration. To get into the display the deck needs to be completely powered down and the right nob needs to be pressed and held down to get into the audio configuration. Figured that out after 30 min of trying to set it up with the deck on... giving up and referring to the manual which I had to cling to, to finish the task... (continued)

(May-June Winner!) Review:
Purchased 2 of these guys to try them out due to alot of word of mouth on how they are some really nice dirt cheap budget subs.
Looks: Looks decent, not a whole lot of the pretty bright cheap looking colors etc of other cheap budget subs.
Structure quality: I was a bit disappointed on the quality of the material, foam ring is really thin, and the housing is thin metal too. Its not thin enough that I could flex it with my hands, but its not as heavy as my Fosgate P2 subs. For the price, I dont think this is a big deal.
Power: Box says 400 rms @ 4 ohm. My amp is 2 channel 500 rms @ 4 ohm and 900 rms @ 2ohm. I wired them on a 2 ohm load.... (continued)

(March-April Winner!) Review:
The deck is sick looking. Very sleek and plain up front. Not over done with a bunch of buttons. The buttons feel good and the track skip dial is easy to use. So if you're not looking while driving you wont be pressing the wrong thing changing songs. They're also many color options for both the keys and background which gives it a good look. It's also very easy to remove and insert the face plate compared to my 9887. Just push eject and pull out... (continued)
