It really did! My current set up is very impressive to me! No it’s not the loudest system I’ve ever had, and it won’t compete with any of the big dogs on here...but for one 12, it kicks ass in my Prelude! The 1st gen type R seems to be almost as accurate, in my vented enclosure, as my sealed enclosure, but much more brutal! If it is less accurate, or less musical, in this enclosure, it’s by such a small margin I truthfully cannot tell the difference with my ears.
I have to say, this is the first time I’ve ever went active with a system, and I’m sold!
My boston SL60s are still set just a little bit bright, but man they sound really good loud.

Are you looking for me to reinforce your purchase?.. my opinion is my opinion and it's that it's a lower tier overrated amp that has no business powering a HD 15... that sub will laugh at that amp, no offense meant but I dont know why people buy $400 subs, power them with sub $200 amps and never had the electrical or a real plan to power it. Personally... I''d have bought something like a Sa-15 or Xfl-15. At least upgrading to power it wouldn't be a nightmare and the thing would do really well in your car.
Sounstream ain't the Soundstream that made killer amps in the 90's anymore... I loved the 10.0's btw.
It'll work tho... just not tax that sub

So, the dyno test by Big D, doesn't help? The only other amp I looked at was the Taramps MD300.1 4 ohm version, 3,000 watts @ 4 ohms, but only 1,920 watts @ 2 ohms. Weird amp IMO. The Soundstream 2500.1 L.E.'s are a little different than the regular 2500.1's. Attached is a rough start to the sub box.

I saw it awhile ago... that's a big ol sub you got there and wired to 1 ohm in a decent box you'll probably see 3ohm power at best around tuning.
Hell... it's bought... I'd just build a bigger box (whatever space your willing to sacrifice) with enough port at this point if your goals are low and loud.

Soundstream actually used to be really amazing in the early 90s, but then the owner died, I think in 1994, I may be wrong.
Some time after that, his wife sold the name, and was Soundstream’s demise.
I used to have a 1980 Malibu, that I wanna say in 1992, I had a Soundstream Reference 705 installed by AMS in Madison WI. They also installed 2 spl 15s in a sealed box I got discounted, because they built the box for someone who stiffed them.
I was actually there for 2 spl160s, but the sales guy talked me out of it, he said without a meter, I would not be able to tell the difference between them.
They also installed Boston pros in the doors, a Viper alarm, And a stinger cap.
That system was on a completely different level of what I have now.
I wanna say I think my SL60s sound better, but I don’t think 4 of these type Rs ported would even hang with those 2 15s sealed....they were monsters.

Use a calculator such as this:

Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume

Or use a program like Bass Box Pro or WinISD or Torres etc

I simply stated my opinion, and that was that I would use bigger box. It's OPs decision if he wants to, doesnt matter to me. I don't think I was rude or condescending.

No it's not just diff color.

I actually ran the Rubicon 2500.1 and matching 4 ch amps for about 5 yrs. They were ok but the mono amp fell short of it's claimed rating. A lot of mfgrs will do this to get you to buy. I have since sold them will NOT go back to SS and went with a much better brand. Bobbytwatnames just because it says it does 2300-2500 doesn't mean it will.... lot of that depends upon how strong your electrical is. I myself would have kept that Orion amp instead of selling it. You downgraded yourself.

Alls I have to say, is Shredder is a descent guy, He’s helped me a lot, and asked for nothing in return, other then updates.

Reread the thread man... you were frustrated, I mentioned an additional baffle to make a good cut on... idk. Someone else commented on your quality cuts... I just love when people self destruct.

So maybe I commented on that.
