    Re: quick relay question

    Terminals on a SPDT Relay
87 - Normally open, when closed, is contacted to 30.
Pin 87a - Normally closed contacted with 87. Opens when relay is energized.
Pin 85 - energizes relay. (closes 87 to 30) Needs to have ground or 12v
    Pin 86 - energizes relay (closes 87 to 30) Ground or 12v
Pin 30 - Output to device. When relay is energized, it outputs whatever is input to 87. If 87 has 12v, 12v will come from 30. or vise versa

If you have any more questions, holler. Hope I have helped. Oh, and 85 or 86 can go to ground. If 85 is ground, 86 needs to have 12v to energize the relay or vise versa.

    Re: quick relay question

yeah that helped a lot, but just to make sure, if i have 87 from 12v source, and 30 to output source, 85 to ground, i'd put my remote in 86 right?

    Re: quick relay question

Yessir. That would work exactly as planned. I would just like to note that you can switch 85 and 86, or 87 and 30 and it would still work fine. Not that you need to, just trying to help ya in the future.
