Ford Escape aftermarket wire issue

I just bought an aftermarket headunit for my 01 Escape, and when I wired the plugs up I ended up with an extra couple wires. Blue wire from the Escape side and from the Scosche side I have orange/black, orange and a black/white left over. I plugged it in and could hear the unit power up, but thefaceplate wouldnt come on and it spit my cd right back out. Can someon help me figure out what I did wrong? Everything matches except for the leftover wires. There is no orange on the escape side which is used for auto dim so I figured it was pointless anyways, but would the black/white be causing the problem? Or even the blue left in the dash? Very confused here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks all! :crying:

Did you try reading the instructions? You said it was new.
