    Icon32 (1) 4 ga. or (2) 8 ga?

ok...i just installed my system, but discovered my scosche wiring kit comes with 14 ft of 4 ga power wire, and i have 2 8 ga. power wires that are plenty long enough, so my question is can i do this.....

BATTERY-->(2)8 ga. wire--> fuse block-->goes through the car for a few feet-->to fuse distribution block, 4 ga. comes out-->to amp...1..

can i do this, without anything messing up?

any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

Why? That's an absolutely pointless way of doing it. You should always run the larger gauge first, and then split smaller lines off of it. Run the 4ga. from the battery to a distro (unnecessary for one amp..) and then run 8ga. from there. But honestly, save your money and just run the 4ga. into the amp, and be done.

    No, I won't re-upload the Big3 pictures. Don't ask.

Cross sectional aread of 2 8ga is not equal to one 4ga. (you need 2.52 8ga wires)

    So in that respect, no.

And you can't put both into the same fuse holder, because if one wire isn't connected properly, then you don't have the fuse protecting the cable, or if the power decides for whatever reason to go through one of the wires unequally, then you will burn it.
