    New battery CCA?

im thinking about getting a new battery for my car with higher capacitance, walmart has one with 875 CCA for 58 bucks, but my car has a battery with the same CCA, and that was the highest battery that Wally world had...how high do they go? how high should i get? should i not bother?

That would be the Everstart Maxx. I had 3 at one time, and have one starting 2 different cars, for about 6 months. No complaints with them whatsoever.

I believe most BCI group Optimas have anywhere from 500-800cca, or around there.

    Re: New battery CCA?

well i have a feeling i will be, as im installing a visonik v900hc amp in it(~3200RMS), but no not yet, just gathering info for the future. i hate dimming, and i really hate it when your amp draves to much voltage and your system drops below 12 and the amps and stuff lapse until it can recharge.

    Re: New battery CCA?

800 CCA is VERY high for a 58 dollar battery, and every day driving...you should have no problem with that

Just so you don't seem ignorant in the future...

CCA is a measure of amperage..."cold cranking amps"...roughly related to a battery's Ah (amp-hours). Generally, you don't compare batteries based on capacitance. Also, a high CCA doesn't mean that would be a good battery for long-term playing time, actually, a high CCA would be worse if you plan to listen with the system off. In that case, you'd want a deep cycle battery, which would give you a little lower inrush current but give a higher Ah rating.
