Ditch the caps. Run both amps off of the new battery. Do your Big 3. Possibly get an H.O. alt.

    No, I won't re-upload the Big3 pictures. Don't ask.

take that money you were going to invest in caps and put it in a High Output alternator. YOu will see much better results.

also theres no need to run two amps--you can probably save some money and buy a more powerful amp.

Re: need help with amp and sub config.

Name an amp that puts out 5000 watts and cost less than $600. Two A2400DB's cost less than i wanna say $550. So if you can't beat that price with a single 5000 watt i do not think you will be saving money. I have not heard of many 5000 watt amps that cost less than $600. Oh yea those are new prices with 1 year warranty brand new.

I don't mean to be a **** but i am just saying. I don't think he is going to do it much cheaper with 1 amp compared to two.

Re: need help with amp and sub config.

I agree with monte_carlo, its definately going to be cheaper with two amps.

Invest your cap money into an HO alt and just run some 0/1 guage power wire back to a distrbution block for the two amps, easier than running two power wires. Also get the biggest battery you can fit to save yourself from having to wire two batteries.

Re: need help with amp and sub config.

get a red topper and be done with it. If you got a H.O. altenrnator there is no need for a second battery. Because once it runs out of power it will be a major strain on the system. I got 2 A3000DB's and i run 0/1 ga. to the trunk and run a distro with 4 ga outs into the amps and i am setting good. No need for caps or second battery all waste of money. Invest in a good alternator and do the big 3 wire upgrade and you will be fine.

Re: need help with amp and sub config.

well he isn't going to look for a 5000w amp he only needs 2400 rms at 2 ohm so where did the 5000 watts come from? audiobahn 2300hct puts out 2400 rms i can get those 400 bucks.

for the same reason a ton of other ppl buy crap amps like audiobahn, hifonics etc. but to each his own--i certainly don't want to argue with anyone over brands or prices. each man needs to look at his own set-up and decide whats best for him. i've never used an audiobahn amp but i know many ppl who swear by em. my personal preference on amps is Memphis but they can be quite expensive.

yea he will two subs and he wanted one amp per sub. He needs 4,800 watts max and 2,400 watts rms. According to my infoe the 2300hct only puts out 2400 watts max not rms. Therefore he would still need two of them. I am not trying to start anything but i am just sayin.

I will probably wait till it snows when i park my car during the winter and work on it then. I will keep you updated on it. How is yours going. Custom Audio Concepts was doing it right?
