Icon33 hmm...anybody every run two alternators?

I was autozone getting a battery/alternator test and the guy says that I'm killing my alternator & battery with all these voltage drops due to the audio system; and he was like, "You know you can put another alternator right up in here?"

has anyone ever ran two alternators? I doubt I'd do it, but i'm just wondering what the effects/advantages/disadvantages are/could be?

The serious big time comp vehicles run multiple alts. "The Beast" had 4 las time I checked. It can be done but it would be cheaper to get one bigger one rather than multiple smaller ones.
