Installed new amp, worked fine for a few days and now issues

I've got a pioneer 5600bhs double din with a Rockford t400.4 and brand new Crescendo symphony 1500.1. I installed the sub amp last week after my old soundstream Rubicon kept overheating from the southern Louisiana heat. Currently running knukonceptz 4ga (0ga already on the way). The new amp worked fine, set the gains to 1600w on a dmm after seeing it can output 1760 at 1 ohm on a certified clamp test. 2 days ago, the entire sound system started kicking off when the bass hit hard at full tilt but it would come back on after a few seconds. Today, the subs stopped playing all together and only emit a random popping noise every 10 seconds or so. When I tried to troubleshoot the issue using only my battery's power, the whole system shut off again but this time at a low volume. I've checked all my power and speaker wire for shorts or loose connections, and I completely rewired my subs but still nothing. My dmm doesn't seem to want to work as it read 0v at the amp, even though the light was on.

Everything worked fine before I put the crescendo amp in, any thoughts?

Subs are 2 10" old model Cerwin Vega vmax's

Check the fuse. Sometimes you can get a power light through the remote while there is still a voltage problem on the main power wire. Also, don't visibly check the fuse, check the voltage on each side of the fuse while the system is playing. If there is a difference in voltage on each side of it, it's bad.

Crescendo seems to be the problem. JP redid his with all Crescendo and now he can't demo a full song.

That's a lot of power for a civic.

Re: Installed new amp, worked fine for a few days and now issues

Forgot to mention, big 3 is done all 0ga and my Rubicon was also a 1600.1,never any issues. I didn't look at my fuse during my lunch break but the amp didn't come with one built in so I have an external 150A. The Rubicon had 4 40A fuses in it so I figured the same 150A would work fine on the new one. I do have a spare so I can swap it after work and see what's going on. I also plan to plug my phone directly I to the amp rcas and see if I get a signal, I just ran out of time earlier.

This problem came on slowly and got progressively worse over the last few days.

So you are trying to pull 200ish amps from a 80 amp alternator? Big does not make the source produce more power.

also double check all crimps and connections on power and ground runs. If problem progressively got worse there may be something working loose.

It's an si, the stock alt is a 120A. I know I can't pull more current out of thin air using big wires, I'm just trying to make it as efficient as I can since I'm getting a new car next year.

Also, even with the sub output switched off on my head unit I still get random pops from the sub.

sounds like it was getting low on voltage, or you have a loose connection.

But, it seems like one of those may have blown your amp. If its under warranty, start that conversation. If it isn't, pull the back off and see if anything is charred

Re: Installed new amp, worked fine for a few days and now issues

I checked everything mentioned in this thread and nothing helped. I even moved my ground. The amp was getting 14.2v the whole time. I reinstalled my Rubicon and it works fine. I'll be calling crescendo in the morning.

Thanks everyone who took the time to help, I appreciate it.
