amp mounting in Chevy 2500 std cab

Hey I need to get around to mounting my 4 channel cadence in my truck, I have a 99 Chevy 2500 Standard cab so room is fairly limited. I was thinking of epoxying some thin strips of wood to the back of the cab with some bolts through them and metal strapping, then mounting a piece of plywood to that and then the amp to that. Has anyone ever done this before or are there any other ideas?

    thanks

it is about **** time you get your amp mounted :p

that may work, or you could mount it to the floor, looked like there was room back there to me, or maybe build an angled piece that it can be mounted to

Re: amp mounting in Chevy 2500 std cab

i say hide it under the seat. there should be plenty of room under there bc i know there is more than enough in a standard cab toyota tacoma for a decent sized amp.

oh yea under the seat would be really good. N hide wires under carpet. IT may take some time. But ull be more than pleased by the finish.

Re: amp mounting in Chevy 2500 std cab

I would rather not put it under the seat for two reasons:

    1) I live in Phoenix AZ right now it is 103*F out and it will be getting up to 115*F this summer and I will be driving every day in that heat come the lunch hour.
    2) I would like access to the amp easily both for future work and short term work as I am going to have a chance to test a couple subs bridged on the 3rd and 4th channels, and I just want general access for the future

anyways thanks for the idea, just dont think under the seat is for me

here's an idea/\.....make a triangle shaped box and mount the box to the floor and the amp to the box...have it in the middle where u have it know with not as big a slant though then drill holes into the side of the box and run all the wires into the box and runn the wires out the back and then behind the carpet on the back wall.....wallllah wires gone

Re: amp mounting in Chevy 2500 std cab

Ive seen a box made like a V. Its tight the subs both inside the V. But it has to be a big *** box. It also had a plexiglass window. But they kid was a ******* n screwed it up. Aslong as the guy mounts his amp outside the box and not inside good idea. Just incase he reads that wrong. Amps Overheat in boxes =)~~.
