Look forward to the outcome of this, is there a way to to find out my stock alternator amperage? I looked everywhere and cant find it. 2013 civic si

Cool, how do you plan to bypass the stock charging limitations?

The new alternator will have a voltage regulator on it with a new wire that will run to an ignition source to turn the alternator on and off with the rest of the car. The factory wire will be left unplugged thus causing a battery light on the dash but I don't care about that. Honda has a great system going just not good for us car audio guys.

Nice, is that alt custom or one they keep in stock? Also if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

    Re: 2013 Civic

Its a stock case with built internals. It peaks 310 amps and does 275 amps heated. It is a 6 phase hairpin design alternator, whatever that means. Im preety sure Singer builds each alternator to order and doesn't keep built units laying around. However I highly recoomend him he was a great help. Paid a little over 500 for it, have almost a grand just in electrical right now as we speak not counting subs, amp, or box.

He said it can't be done for the lx models, so I guess I'm back to square one.

Hate to hear that man, the lx model has a different motor than my si so probably a different alternator too.

    Re: 2013 Civic

Well, after looking at the replacement models he said he can probably build one now. I asked if it would bypass the charging limitations but I haven't heard back yet. I hate how newer cars are making it harder to do this stuff.
