Two amps both 700 rms with a stock alt on a 2000 buick park ave

Would it hurt the alt to run two amps both 700 rms on a 2000 Buick park Ave stock alt?

What's the stock alternator size on that vehicle? In most cases, do the big 3 and possibly consider getting an AGM battery under the hood and you'd be fine.

More than likely you should be fine. Take the POWER (watts) you intend on running, and divide it by the voltage and you come up with the amount of amp your sterio will pull. The amount of amps you will pull should be near or below your alt size

I was running about 1500rms on stock electrical for a few weeks on a 90amp alt. Heavy *** light dimming and my amp would go into protection if I tried to go near full tilt. But it worked at almost 3/4 volume and still sounded great. In short; I say you'll be fine. However, I do recommend at least doing the Big 3.

Re: Two amps both 700 rms with a stock alt on a 2000 buick park ave

Will it be "OK" More than likely to answer your question - YES - But this will be dependent upon your wiring and amplifier efficiency as well as how hard you run those amps and for how long at a time... I've ran 1k - 1.5k rms successfully in many GM vehicles ranging from 85 amp to 150 amp oem a/c delco alts with minimal head light dimming @ low engine rpm with a good single run of 0/1 and a healthy batt under the hood... These were all just daily setups that did get used quite a bit, but everything was also adjusted properly using an o-scope & dmm - This makes a big difference as well
