Sub not playing + Amp blinking

    Hi,

I have 2 x Alpine Type R 12" with an Alpine 1100W RMS Amp plus an audio capacitor.
Those were working in the last 2 week but are not working anymore (Amp light is not lighting).
When I bought my car the sub were installed already so I checked all wire and saw that ground were scotched with electrical tape to the car frame so I drilled an hole in the frame and did it correctly.

+ From battery is plugged on capacitor, - of capacitor in the drilled hole, my amp ground is plugged on capacitor and my amp + on capacitor.

The problem is that my amp light is flashing but not blinking.... As if the battery would do 12v, 6v, 12v, 6v...

I ear it in the speaker a lil bit and the only way that made my sub to work is to plug a RCA wire on the output of my amp...

Sorry for the spelling error... my native language is french so hope you understand!

    Sincerely, Dom!

What ohm load are your subs giving your amp?

    Alpine - ASE (local) - Batcap - C&D Tech - CT Sounds - DC - eD - Excessive Amperage - Rainbow

Re: Sub not playing + Amp blinking

1 Re wire your remote wire straight from the amp to the radio fuse in your fuse box maybe it should work if its sending a stronger amperage thru the wire, 2 un plug the rcas from your output asap! All your doing is sending excessive signal straight thru your deck to your speakers and will blow every speaker in your car only use the input on a amp , the output should only be used if your deck only has one output for your rcas , which means you then connect a pair of rcas from the outputs on your main amp to your second amp inputs

Re: Sub not playing + Amp blinking

First of all I kicked out my capacitor... I sincerely think it's useless for a such small setup......

I also think about the remote wire... could I use a jumper wire from my positive to the remote only to see if it is ?

About the transistor.. my new amp is more powerfull than the last one... my radio output is 4v.. I cannot tell you more.

Re: Sub not playing + Amp blinking

I have an Honda Civic 93 (Type R Swap) with stock alt, Wiring: Battery Positive, Fuse, Amplifier.. My amp is grounded on a screw of my torsion bar (it was scotched here before and was working). Remote isn't plugged in the back of the radio, I will plug it directly on radio fuse tomorow

    Edit:

2 wire (output) are connected to the first sub which had jumper wire to the second sub...

They are useless on any setup. We need to know what your subs are wired at.

Re: Sub not playing + Amp blinking

You have on the sub near the push terminals to plug in the speaker wires there should be a model number swr-12d4 or swr-12d2 which one does yours say , now you have two terminals +- +- , red = + , black = - how are your subs wired red to red and black to black and then they go to your amp ill show a pic

Re: Sub not playing + Amp blinking

Oh and Dom you never wanna run a jumper from remote to positive on your amp you'll drain your battery by the morning because the amp will never turn off it will have constant power

Plus if that tiny remote wire heats up you got a fire in your trunk
