    Beyond confused

    I need help AGAIN
So had my system done and it sounded good until about a week ago, the amp (kenwood KAC9104D) for my subwoofers (pioneer flats) stopped playing?
My first though was a fuse.. i check the two in the amp looked fine but replaced anyways then the fuses on my power wire are fine.
Amp still powers up blue light turns on, red triangle is on and the fans turn on.
Where im am lost is when the amp stopped playing, i was enjoying the tunes, an odd burning smell occurred?

i have hooked up a different amp and it did power the woofers

    Any ideas?

Oh god why. Your saying that another amp works on the subs? Was your amp set properly? was it getting hot, as well as the cones of the subs?

    Re: Beyond confused

Did you happen to notice a loose connection to the amp that wont play when you removed it? check for signs of any arcing on the terminals, burned spots etc. The burning smell part you speak of is sketchy, there isnt a protection light on the amp that illuminates when its plugged in?

Check for an indicator light like this, if there is one on your amp may be fried, and if it is fried you will definately want to find out what happened. There could be many reasons, ive seen amps get wet in a trunk thats not perfectly sealed and short, very low operating voltage with high current demands could burn up something. Do you have a multi meter? the best way to trouble shoot would be to probe around with one of them thats where i would start

    Re: Beyond confused

I can't find anything about an indicator light in this amp.
    Newb question
What do you mean by low operating voltage and high current demands?
Amp is 1ohm stable and I had the woofers wired to 1 ohm

    Re: Beyond confused

I meant if say you were playing and your battery wasnt charging properly or you were playing without your car on and your electrical system dropped to a level unacceptable for your amp. Ive seen a power supply get ruined from this as it is trying to regulate the voltage up to normal operating range but cannot. This is most likely not the case i was just giving an example.
