Do you know of anyone who tests & reviews High Output alternators?

I've tried two different brands of HO alternators without much success. Neither were/are very good quality, in my opinion.

I'm looking for a good alternator, NOT cheap. At least 100 real amps at a realistic idle speed.

I did put a small pulley on one alternator. The small pulley helped the amps at idle, but the alternator only lasted about two years. I don't put a lot of miles on the vehicle. I'm sure the small pulley must have shortened the lifespan of the alternator.

Been running a DC Power 270xp on my daily for 5 years now. Does around 190a HOT at idle. Not cheap but worth it IMO...

They were NOT cheapo brands from from eBay.

I don't think it's fair to mention the brands, since I have no absolute proof that the alternators were defective or low quality. I don't remember the first brand. The second brand had a small "overdrive" pulley. It was 130 AMP, and cost about $200. It worked well while it lasted, but like I said, the small pulley must have shortened the lifespan. Or, maybe not.

I've looked at DC Power. I may go with them, but I would need an adapter bracket. I'm trying to avoid using an adapter bracket.

    Thanks!

Re: Do you know of anyone who tests & reviews High Output alternators?

Quality Power is the last company i've delt with and their product works very well. To get a solid 100A at idle we used a 240A alternator.

have you been helped by me? i'd love to know. shoot me a PM.
