Why is it that for my Ford Taurus, the maximum i can get is 230A? (ive asked many companies/people and it all comes out the same)
I just want to know what makes this such a problem, yet even smaller engines can get bigger HO alts

You can also try excessive amperage. I was able to get a 300a model from him (nobody else had one), had to make a bracket for it though.
Yea that might b a option also fab a bracket and use a big case gm alt if urs has room ..would have to run a external reg..but could potentially get a 320-370

there is more to it than just the alt, as mentioned above. it's the entire system including regulators and rectifiers and compatibility required. Ford likes to separate parts that should otherwise be left together. I don't understand why their engineers make some of their decisions.
why do you have "stock battery" in your sig? why are you leaving a current sink in the mix? the system is only as strong as the weakest battery.
have you been helped by me? i'd love to know. shoot me a PM.

I come up with a Group Size 36R for the starting battery.
Optima makes one.
so does XS
36R | XS Power | Real Power, Unreal Performance
for alts, it depends if your car is a OHV or DOHC.
in the end, buy a vehicle that is capable of supporting your system instead of cramming a square peg into a round hole.![]()

why what?
why is the alt limited in output? higher amperage requires larger casings for thicker gauge windings.
you bought a car that has physical size limitations to the size casing that will physically fit in the location and still mount properly. a car that was discontinued in 2006 because no one cared about it, even Ford.
