Xs Battery ??

Is it ok to use a series D audio xs power battery under the hood, instead of in the back( im only running 1krms), Also if my wire running from the alt to battery + if very short, like can barly reach the battery terminal now and i have a small battery, what should i do? i thought if you just disconnect the stock power wire it can mess with the computer in the car? thanks for any help

D series is a starter battery + car audio.
