You can run a single voice coil sub on two amps. What sub, amps, and why do you want to use two amps?

    Re: Another noobie question

So is your sub dual 2 ohm? If so you could run an amp per voice coil but you would have to line match the amps as already stated. You would do this by setting the gains the exact same on each amp with a digital multimeter. I set my gains by ear and never have had to line match so someone else would have to explain how or you could research setting gain with DMM yourself.

Lol, did you even read his reply?

You'll need a DMM in order to set the gains at the same setting. If you have one, fantastic - get them line matched. If not, I'd recommend a single amplifier.

you can run two amps to the sub... but the amps MUST be the same rating or else you will run into problems with the voice coil
