Old Punch 45.2 amp and a new Polk Audio DXi 104 DVC sub setup

What is the best way to wire an old Punch 45.2 amp to a new Polk Audio DXi 104 DVC dual 4ohm 10in subwoofer? I've read a few ways to do it, but just wasn't sure about my situation since it is an OG Punch 45.2 amp and a new DVC 10in sub. Is the best way doing a + to + and - to - on the (DVC) speaker and then going from the speaker +/- (one side) to the amp's +/- on 1 channel? Or is it suppose to be + on 1 amp ch and - on the 2nd channel? Any helpful feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That amp doesn't do 2ohm mono.

Here is the manual for it:

Should I use a jumper (+ to -) on the dvc sub then go speaker pos+ to channel 1 pos+ and speaker neg- to channel 2 neg-? Would this be the correct/best way? I'm a noob at this. Thanks for the feedback.

You can wire a dual 4 ohm sub two ways:

That amp does 4 ohm mono (bridged). You would have to run that sub at 8 ohms to use that amp properly. That will also reduce the amp's output by ~1/2 due to the doubled resistance of the driver.

Re: Old Punch 45.2 amp and a new Polk Audio DXi 104 DVC sub setup

hmm considering I already had the amp, should I have gotten a SVC sub instead of the DVC? What do you think is the best fix/work-around for this work? jco1385 thanks for the helping hand man!

Re: Old Punch 45.2 amp and a new Polk Audio DXi 104 DVC sub setup

For a 4 ohm final load (to use that amp), you would need either a SVC 4 ohm or a DVC 2 ohm. Or 2 DVC 4 ohm subs.

I ended up making a video of my install. First time install, so I'm sure there are things I could've done better. Feedbacks are welcomed.
