    big 3 or better battery?

well, this won't be much help but i honestly can't remember what kind of battery i have right now... but anywho, would you see a difference in performance if instead of doing the big 3 (on stock electrical) you just upgrade to a high performance battery?

having one or the other wont do much good, but i would take a beefier battery over big 3 + bad battery though.

Re: big 3 or better battery?

Both! but if not both you would be ok with the stock electrical and having a larger reserve with a better battery. With the larger reserve your amp should run better and you should be able to hit more power hungry notes better, like those awesome lows. When i started my newest system, i just had stock electrical, 4 gauge ofc front to back, little wet cell bat under the hood, and the wet cell bat from my car that blew up, running an aq1200 and hdc3 15 wired at 1 ohm......it was good but lacked in long bass note output. when i upgraded to a kinetic hc2400 in the back i noticed a great improvement with those long bass notes. the big 3 just helps keep up the re-charge as you dis-charge, so it will be fine until u can or want to do the big 3 with just a better agm bat.
    Good Luck tho

Re: big 3 or better battery?

either way just do them both, the amount of wire that it takes to do is small. an extra 15-20 bucks to know that its all dialed in correctly is worth it in my opinion for the piece of mind

Big 3 should be sufficient. If not, then upgrade battery too.

I ran a jl 1000/1v2 off just an extra battery. With a 70x4 amp as well. Was fine.

Start with the big 3, then add a battery if needed.
