Removing carpet under 6x9 for more air flow?

I have carpet under my 6x9 speakers under the rear deck of my car, I've heard that removing or cutting holes in the carpet will improve on the air movement in the cabin, but does this still have the same effect when my seats are down as well? Or more of a fix for cars that don't allow back seats to fold down? Also on a side note would cutting the carpet under my 6x9's make them louder or clearer?

Wont make a difference. Even if you cut out the carpet under the speakers the speakers will still prevent airflow into the cabin. Shouldnt make them louder or clearer either.

Remove the speakers. Rear deck speakers with substage are kinda useless
