I just got a new cadence zrs9.. Okay installed it and everything was perfect sounds great. So I went out of town and came back. Started the truck up and the speakers take a second or two longer to come on than usually and then there is a distorted pop that comes through. I them turned it off and started it again no problem. Well I go to the store come out start it and it happens again...and I notice that my sub amp comes on before my new highs amp turns on and I get that pop..please help
Sounds like a ground loop. How are they grounded?
Everything is grounded via a distrubution block...I changed my ground wires

Mounted on the back wall of my trucks cab, I had an eclipse mounted before and I decided since I'm changing amps might as well changed out the wires, the disto is hooked up to a ground 4 gauge wire then splits up to 8 gauge wires...I didn't have this problem with my old amp??? Please help
Where is the ground. Like to the truck? To bare metal?
Where is the ending ground to after the distro?
It's to an existing bolt on the back wall...I have used it for the last 3 months with no problems on my eclipse and m500 just changed the eclipse to the cadence and changed the power and ground wires also to ofc and this issue just popped up after I came back from out of town I was gone 4 days
Grounding to the back wall of your cab probably isn't the best place to put a ground. Your new setup may be more power hungry than the old one. Try using something closer to the frame like a seatbelt bolt on the floor or a seat bolt. They are larger bolts but a better position...make sure to sand the paint off so the ring terminal of your ground is touching bare metal, then clean it with carb cleaner or alcohol and install the ground. To prevent corrosion, spray a light coat of battery terminal protectant on the ground.
Are you running the RCAs and power wire on the same side? Or, did you pinch the RCAs going to your new amp somehow? Check to make sure nothing is pinched and that your RCAs are making as little contact with the power and ground as possible.
No everything is run separately...switched rca's from my pac unit and same problem..I will look for another grounding point and give that a shot any other ideas???
Ground to the battery. I tell people this all the time. NO GROUND IS BETTER THEN YOUR BATTERY.
Well I am considering doing that but would that cause one amp to turn on before another? I have the Amps power the front components and a subwoofer..when I start the car the speakers powered by the headunit come on them the woofer and the components and there is a static pop at turn on? I would gladly run another ground from the battery but would this cause that issue? Also I am running a 4 gauge power would I run a 4 gauge ground it's about 13-14 feet my two amps have 60 amp fusses
Okay...bump!!!! I noticed now that when I use my remote start the pop is not there only happens when I start the car when its cold please help!!! I am confused could this all be from a bad ground?
Umm...does your amp happen to have an in-line fuse in it? Also check your battery fuses...this seems to say battery problems to me...since you redone all your grounds and rcas...
I replace all my fuses every year...just because they're cheaply made and they get dirty...really quick.
But yeah..to answer your question...it can all be from a bad ground. Make sure the surface is a shiny piece of metal and it's securely screwed down to that metal.
Do a new ground and you will know. There is a lot of problems that can happen from bad grounds. Don't just look for a better ground, make a good groundQuote:
