Subs just don't seem loud enough

seat bolts are one of the worst places you can ground. i can almost guarentee thats one of your problems.

Mine is grounded under my seat belt in between the seat belt and my car body. I've got the paint sanded down to metal under it and I haven't had any issues with my amp, but could it be better somewhere else? Is there anyway to test it? I've got a fire bird and the back seat belts are directly bolted to the body. Is this an okay ground?

it depends on the point where the bolt goes into the body , some areas are just small section that is spot welded in place ,which is bad for a ground point ,others are straight to the body

Not sure about if its connected to everything but I know its connected to the entire rear of the car. Is there a way to test if my ground is good ?

yes if your amp is close then you get your dmm stiv=ck the ground wire and the power and see what your voltage is ,then check that against your battery voltage

you just gotta guess where you think 80 would be. it doesnt have to be exact.

So then wouldn't it be a LOT fuggin easier to set the HU LPF to 80Hz and turn the amp LPF all the way up....

also where did you get the enclosure as that could be an issue. Dual ports has me wondering.....

If it's barely overpowering the bass from your door speaker's I'm betting on a phasing issue. Was this an exaggeration op? How the subs moving when the bass hits. Do they look like they are pounding but you get hardly any output?

Did you unhooked your subs when You set your gain with a dmm. Because it says that everywhere for some reason but you should keep them Hooked up when your doing the tone.... I have set a few different amps with sub not hooked up and it ended up being only like half of where it should have been,..,. I would think if it was a ground problem voltage would be a problem along with it but your volts are good.. so I would try setting gains again.... and your lpf would only be like a quarter or so up for 80 hz... where is your ssf set?

What would cause a phasing issue? Im not sure on how to set the ssf either.

Try unhooking 1 sub at a time and see if anything changes.
Ssf should be set a little under your box tuning.

Usually set it a little below what your box is tuned to. I usually set mine around 25 when I'm tuned in the low 30s
