bad fm/am reception on new jvc x50bt car stereo

Hello all, i have a 2006 nissan pathfinder with no bose sound system. I bought and installed a new jvc 50bt blue tooth stereo. Everything works great except the fm and am reception, i can only get 3 stations. I've called cruchfield and they told me that i need to make sure i attach the ground wire coming out of the H.U. to the chasis of the car. I did that and still no reception. i bought the metra harness designed for my car and the head unit. also bought the antenna adapter for my car and H.U.
can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? I'm going crazy...

crutchfield told me to only attach the stero ground wire to the chasis, and not the black and blue wire from the harness. Please Help. I used to get great reception with oem stereo.

You sure your antenna adapter's properly wired? Mine needed a connection to the remote wire and signal improved dramatically...

is there a blue wire that came with your antenna adapter? if so connect that to the remote wire.

remote wire? if i remember correctly there was a wire with a sticker called remote. so you're saying that i need to connect black ground wire to the wire that says remote?

No, connect that wire you just mentioned to your remote turn-on wire on the wiring harness. It's normally blue with a white stripe.

no. that would fry your head unit. we are saying that if a wire came connected to your antenna adapter (it would be blue), then you would connect that blue wire to the remote turn on wire.

blue wire to remote wire?.... what about the ground wire? crutchfield thinks that the problem is with the black wire not being grounded but i made sure that the ground wire is connected to the chasis correctly and tight.

Your ground wire is probably fine. Blue wire to remote wire. But only if you're talking about blue wire of the antenna adapter to remote wire of the wiring harness for the HU.

did you ground to bare metal?

yes grounded to bare metal and the antenna adapter didn't come with any wires, just the adapter
