Line Output Converter, Need to Purchase one
Hope this is in the right section. So this is my first time having to use a Hi-lo converter, I always just changed out my head units, but in the car I have now 2008 Mazda 6 you can't change the headunit out unless you want to put Metra's ugly *** dash kit in the car. Anyway I need some help.
I'm going to run currently 1 Polk DXI 104 (possibly 2 later on down the road)
I'm running the sub with a kenwood KAC 7204, and later on down the road I MAY do a 4 channel with new interior speakers. My question is what brand of LOC to go with? I've heard AudioControl is pretty good, also I know PAC makes a good item and found a PAC SNI-35 on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/140868032686...84.m1423.l2649
and I've also heard that I may not need to run the LOC if my amp has speaker level inputs. This LOC is all new to me.
Thanks
Re: Line Output Converter, Need to Purchase one
PAC's are ok, I have one in my 66 GTO with the modified headunit, but there are better out there but they can get costly. JL Audio Cleansweep, JBL MS8, Audiocontrol LCQ-1 or LC7i, or Rockford Fosgate 360.1 and .2.
And yes you could use the hi inputs if the amp has it, but it all depends on if you have a factory amp. It will make it harder. I think the seperate LOC's are better than the hi inputs from amps.
Re: Line Output Converter, Need to Purchase one
Some LOC's make turn-off thump, especially the cheap ones. Speaker inputs on the amp are the way to go. That Kenwood also has speaker line sensing, which means you don't need a separate remote wire.

Re: Line Output Converter, Need to Purchase one
So I've decided just to go and get a audiocontrol lc6i since I'm going to so a 4 channel as well, i guess it wouldn't make since to get 2 pac swi, one for the mono amp and 1 for the 4 channel. I guess with the lc6i I can run 2 amps off of it, thanks for the help
