Truck Stutters when Bass Hits

you could be vibrating wiring or connections causing the issue. vibration on the ECM or even electrical interference. good luck figuring it out.

1991 Chevy K1500 are notorious for bad terminal connections on top of the fuel pump. My guess is that the bass hits and causes a disconnect. Check that first.

I don't know squat about mechanics, but considering OP has ruled out electrical system as culprit this or some other mechanical issue must be at fault

my 02 did the same thing, but a battery solved the problem... Test the alt?

ok dip ****, im not crying.. as im asking for advice.. but your advice is from a person who lacks any form of knowledge. and your legitimate advice was what again? that the current is draining from the alternator..

yet you apparently are not only a dip **** but an ignorant one as well, as i posted i disconnected the amp battery from the alternator and have the same issue.

so your legitimate advice... i just wiped my *** with.

Not to being thrown off...just not enough juice to run that hunger power needing bass amp.You running @a 1ohm load on the subs?What size fuse do you have under the hood?And are you running a Fused distro block at the amps as well?How do you have the secondary battery hooked up from the main battery.Alts big three only on the main?Amp power coming off the secondary straight from the batt, and not the main in line?Have you tried to run the alt big three to the secondary as well?How is it done? Pics of under hood wiring, and power supply

did not run alt to second battery as i was affraid of overloading the alt.

only issue with this, is the truck is a single cab.. completely sound deadened.
and nothing appears to be eminating backwards..

as i was thinking a fuel issue myself and tested what i could and nothing vibrates to the rear of the cab.

91 chevy alt standard are only 90-105 amps.A140a may work for you,but will have to bore bolt connection to make fit.I helped a friend out on his older chevy truck, and he had a 105, believe his truck is a 94/95?I have a 98,biggest in stock alt at orileys is a 140a,.I helped him put that on his truckl,did the big three and 14.4-14.6 lowest 14v on a low note.

when at idle, gauges state 14+ when bass is on full im down to 13.5 +-

alt is good, but stock as well 115amp

Check ur vaccum lines it night be leaking but only when vibrated a certain way

Yes but if he ran it off amp power only to test not connected to the alt and shuttered it's def not a alt issue. shuttering usually is a fuel problem. it just might be the bass shaking something and causing it to do that.

Alt isnt big enough my man.That 140 may work for you.On another note of information...I had issues with a pair of new red tops last summer,that i ended up replacing on warranty(Brand new)and later on my voltage kept dropping at times,and up and down..I had no idea what it was, so I had those batts checked out once again with a load and without,and seemed to be fine.Later on, same issue,I ended up replacing the batts with Orileys agm batts, and put a new alt in.And no issues afterwards.The new Redtops went bad , and ended up burning up my internal regulator,then both new sets of batts.It was a expensive lesson to learn, but now I know that the issues all along were the batts.Optimus has had nothing but issues from theyre batts for the last 2yrs so much that even Costco has discontinued to sell them.I have since gotten a 255 amp alt, and 2 agm batts(orileys act have 7yr pro rated warranty,3 of which are free)955ca,775cca,120rc

Sounds like a vibration problem. The fuse box is under the dash on that truck. Any one of a half dozen fuses could be losing connection during bass hits.

It also occurs to me that the ECM in that truck uses a removable prom chip. You could be vibrating the chip causing a loss of connection.

Are you mentally retarded? You do realize that I posted that advice BEFORE you disconnected your battery right? Do you know how time works? My advice was legitimate because before you had even tried that, I told you it was most likely your alt. YES, after you disconnected the alt from the battery, you could rule it out, but I said that BEFORE you tried it. If you're not intelligent enough to figure out a simple problem like this after 20 years of experience, maybe this hobby isn't for you. All of your responses from now on will be ignored due to lack of comprehension ability. Thanks
