help: 16v batts and HO alt

first time messing with 16v stuff. first of all if i get a HO alt that charges at 18v will that mess with the rest of my cars electrical? Can i run 12v batts off of a alt that charges at 18v? what are some good cheap 16v batteries? how many AH of 16v batts would i need for a 6k set up? what company of HO alts should i go with? sorry for 20Q's just lookin to learn

a step down is needed. It will run the 16v and then step down to 12volts to run everythi ng else.

2. How many batts depends on if yoiu plan on running the system alot with the car off. If u wanna play it alot with the car off, id do at least 3-5

If you dont plan on running alot wioth the car off, then 1-2 will be just fine. With a good alternator, the batts are just reserve anyway. With the car running , the alt has pretty much taken ovr anyway

what 2 16v batteries would u recommend? don't plan on running with car off at all.... what is a reliable step down brand/model that u would recommend...thanks for the feedback

would 2 xp1000's on a 300A alt charging at 18v satisfy my electrical needs? amp's:cadence zrs c5 (5100rms @14.4) and c9 (~1000rms @ ?)...... thanks for the feed back
