kenwood kdc mp 208 help needed

ok so I own a kenwood kdc mp208 car stereo reciever and it had been working fine and i had hooked up one day in my house. (I don't have a vehicle yet) and for some reason the display was't lighting up i can play music through it only way i can turn it up tho is via the remote that came with it. I've tried everything I could think of.

What do you mean you were playing it in ur house? were you using a 12 volt power supply or a car battery?? PLEASE don't tell me you rigged it to run off a A.C. outlet... that would be funny though.. especially if it's still alive.

I was using a 12 volt power supply for it and i have also used a battery.

possbily some of the contacts on the face and deck isnt connecting? or its just done for

that's what i though at first the thing is with this those is that it does have a removable faceplate i wonder if there are still faceplates out there for this decks.
