Yeah thats what I was thinking. The regular replacement cost on my stock was 147. Hoping they are a new company building rep and not garbage and thats the only way they can sell them lol

Just a re-wind. As long as the rectifier was upgraded you are good. That is a fair price for a reman.

Not really that much cheaper than Mechman..one of the best for car audio. $300 for a 250a from the folks above, or $450 for a mechman 270a. Compare the idle amperage - Motor City 250 = 120a at idle. Mechman 270 = 160a at idle..Performance and Quality wise, you can get so much more for just a few bucks more....and we are not even comparing EA, Ohio, DC, etc.

$150 isn't exactly a few bucks, but when it comes to an alternator and what you described (8-12's @ 4k) I wouldn't cheap out and gamble on a $200 alt. Mechman is a proven quality alternator, as well as the other quacks mentioned.. Especially cuz that idle output probably drops significantly on the M.C.R.

singer ftw. hands down best cs i have ever had dealing with a company. oh and lets not forget life time warranty.
