speakers that don't fit..

so i bought a pair of KFC-1694PS at best buy on saturday...picked them up the other day.

before installing i checked crutchfield.com just to see what they were going for on there... the size for front deck speakers is 6.5..but crutchfield says they will NOT fit in my front deck.

kind of confused..can someone elaborate? thanks

Bought them for the doors on my 2008 cobalt...I have different ones for my rear deck but I want to put the ones I specified in my DOOR SPEAKERS. I got a speaker harness from best buy..but I just wanted to make sure what they told me would fit would fit.

They look at the mounting depth, too. Doesn't mean it's for certain, but worst case you might need to fab a baffle out of MDF

Yep, mounting depth is the reason they won't.

Check the manufacturer's specs (on their website) and measure it yourself to be sure

they sell mdf rings on ebay

These are specs I found. I just wanna know how easy it's gonna be to get these inside my doors. Hoping it won't be too complicated...

This is the one to take into account. But that's a really shallow depth. I don't see why there'd be a problem
