keep the engine @7000 rpm's and never EVER turn the lights on.

I always start a installation with a better ground wire, from the engine to the chasis and from the chasis to the battery and from the alt to the + battery. Do that before you install a bigger amp.

^^^This. If you actually put that in, you better not turn that thing up, or you'll cook it when your voltage drops to lower than what you are seeing now.
