big amp small power wire

for example: if i was to get a big amp like a t2500-1bd could i use 4 guage wire just to get the amount of power i wanted by only turning the gain a little and not have any troubles?

just a question i dont plan on getting that

If it's fused properly then you shouldn't have a problem... but I'm not responsible if your car goes on fire.

run 1/0 all the way till you get to the amp. then run a 4ga off of a power cell, cap or distribution block to the amp if it only takes 4ga input

why would you want to though? just get the recommended gauge of wire.

4 gauge will not carry all that power over the distance he needs.....

If he barely turned it up he would be fine, but it's still really stupid to run small wire on that large of an amp.
