No sound in the front left side (speaker+tweeter)

Hi guys, I've been plagued by this problem where there's no sound coming from the front left tweeter and speaker when I start my car (after leaving it overnight).

It was fixed when I changed to a new amp six months ago but the problem recurred.

I can however temporarily fix the problem by fading left and front and blasting volume to a crazy level. The sound will come back but may go away the next time I start the car.

    In my system I have:
    4 speakers
    4 tweeters
    2 crossover boxes
    Sony HU
    JBL amp
    10" subwoofer

The wirings seem fine. What can possibly be spoilt? Thanks.

Re: No sound in the front left side (speaker+tweeter)

i've seen this problem in amps before. a buddy is going to bench test his soon. i suspect input stage, auto-mute circuit is acting up. or it's a poor solder joint.

have you been helped by me? i'd love to know. shoot me a PM.

Check check and recheck the wires. But if it isn't that see if you can find another amp you can test it with. Also don't fade front left and blast the volume the speaker may get too much power. Head unit is a slim possibility buut simple trial and error try different wires. Amps, sources see if the problem goes away when you do one of these and let us know.

Re: No sound in the front left side (speaker+tweeter)

if you power the speakers from the HU and they are fine, you can suspect the amp.

if you swap Left and Right amp input RCA cables and the problem stays on the same side, you can suspect the amp.

if you swap Left and Right speaker wires at the amp output and the problem switches sides, you can suspect the amp.

    all three = bad amp

oh what i meant was, i blast the volume and the sound on the left side will come back. subsequently i would balance the sounds as per normal and all the speakers can then all play at normal volume

Re: No sound in the front left side (speaker+tweeter)

Open it up and look at the components make sure u don't see aany burnt circuits or blown caapacitors/resistors. Then test the outputs with a digital. Multimeter. Could try simply changing the crossovers see if the problem stys with the crossover.
