so i installed my 4 farad capacitor and im not sure if the volt display reads how much power is in the capacitor or how much power its getting from the battery. its at 12 volts when the car is off and at 14 volts when the car is on. but somthimes when im driving it drops down to 12 volts or 13 volts. dont really know why it drops.

im sorry you guys think im trolling, and that i ask dumb questions. im just trying to learn. im new to car audio and i joined this forum so i could learn and research. i know you guys are telling me to install a new battery and i was reading other forums and stuff online that say that if you are going to run 2 batteries then you will need a bigger alternator because the alternator would have to work harder, replacing an alternator on my car isnt easy. on another note, i noticed some times when im driving i can see the lights on my power cap turn off (the volt reading and led lights) after about 5 seconds it will come back on. i think it might be my wirng but im not sure. i wired the power wire that goes to my amp, into the cap, then grounded the cap to the car and ran another wire from the positive to the amp.

Its ok if it goes off and on because its not really doing anything anyways. Dont worry about that. Is the smell gone yet

That Civic needs a new alternator. A cap or battery is not going to help you.. They have little 60-70amp alternator. You have 2 choices.
1. Get a HO alternator
2. Dont run over 800 watts RMS.

As said before which you didnt listen and are now finding out, your cap is worthless
