Big 3, do I need to replace the alternator ground?

Is the big 3 really a big 4? I've only seen a few posts that say you should (actually, they say that you "must") replace the alt ground when doing a big 3 upgrade. The Big 3 sticky doesn't mention it however and, like I say, it doesn't get mentioned very often, so....necessary or unnecessary?

Seems like it should to me since it's part of the circuit but I'd be happy to not have to bother if it's not required.

I wouldn't hurt, might as well do it too.
