    Newbie Question

Installing amp and components in my truck. First time installing components. Is it better to mount the crossover closer to the speaker or closer to the amp. I can do either.

    Re: Newbie Question

Closer to the speakers. Its also a good idea to mount the tweeter close to the mid-bass driver.

    Re: Newbie Question

    True.

Tip for a component new comer, Experiment with the polarity of the drivers-side mid-range. Wiring it in reverse can help to center the sound stage and increase precious mid-bass output. (after the crossover, not the wires going into the crossover) It made a big difference in my truck because it fixed the acoustic cancellation that was happening due to the speakers firing directly at each other.
