    2006 Aveo Stereo Wire Harness?

My uncle has a 2006 Chevy Aveo, bottom of the line version with only AM/FM radio, anyways he just bought a aftermarket CD player and I went to go hook it up and he need the wiring harness to hook up to the old white plastic clip so I can tie in the new CD player, I went to walmart and they didnt have anything so I called BestBuy and the guy told me it was around $100 for it.. I never heard of them being that much, usally $8-$20 or whatever, So I asked him why are they so much and he said everything is tied into it including fuel injectors, airbags, etc.. So my question is this all true? Is the only stereo wiring harness available over $100? Because that sounds nutts to me.. I appreciate the help..

it's 100 bux cause it's tied into onstar. 1 of the wires on the new hu goes to the pink wire and you won't need the adapter. i'll find out which one gimme a few.

my g/f's avalanche is an 02 and it has onstar. the harness for it was spose to cost me 130bux, but i'm in the avy forums and read to bypass it. so i did it and the kenwood works great. without it, you won't get any sound.

Re: 2006 Aveo Stereo Wire Harness?

i can't find the thread that i've seen about this before. but i believe it boils down to, you hook up the REM wire on the back of the new hu, to the pink wire on the wireing hardness going to the onstar. the pink is the amp on wire. you can only do this if you're not going to use the onstar. other than that, yes you need to buy the PAC plug if you're useing onstar, plus putting in the PAC unit will only come through the front 2 speakers (while actually talking to onstar) not all 4 for whatever reason. should double check in a chevy aveo forum to make sure this is right.
