Amp has power(green light) the wires have spark but theres no power.HELP

I have a clarion head unit and I WAS running a Planet Audio Amp(300w)and a Planet Audio 12"sub in the trunk of my 240sx(hatch).For a small amount of time when my stereo was down low my amp would cut off but when you turn the volume up the amp kicks on and the subs hit.It dis that for a few days possible a few weeks than all of a sudden the sub cuts off,but I still have power to the amp.So I figured my sub might have fried out so I unhooked it and grabbed another sub that is the same make(planet audio)that works and hook it up and still no sub power,so my next step was buying a new amp.I went and bought a brand new SoundStorm 320.2(640watt)amp and hooked it up and still no power to the subs(but the amp has power(the light comes on.

    I HAVE A 6 MONTH OLD BATTERY

Could the problem be the remote wire or could there be a short somewhere???My stereo works fine.

    NEED HELP!!!

I would check your RCAs first, then if that doesn't seem to be the problem, the preamp outs on the deck might be fried. Some decks the preamp signal can be dead and the deck power still be produced. The last thing I can think of with intermitten problems is a cold solder joint on your deck's remote section or preamp section.

Would I be better off buying a new stereo or should I get the preamp fix'd......

I would suggest a new head unit, if your RCA cables are good, but I'm wondering, what do you mean the RCAs have power? Can you tell me how you tested that?
