Amplifier is going into protection mode after wiring subs to .5 Ohm. HELP!

So heres the thing... My two FI BTL 15's were wired at 2 ohms. I dropped my wiring to .5 ohm to achieve my rms rating that is needed. None of the wiring was changed to the amp. To achieve the current needed for the subs, I had to run two sets of positive and negative from the amp to the box. I have these boxes ran with bolts into ring terminals.

You guys have any idea's for me, as this is my buddies car and im stuck. FYI, car was purchased from a private seller who had all the wiring done before hand.

He has the 0 Ga wire going into the 2 Channel Sub Amp power, and an 8 ga wire leading off of the sub amp and going into his 4 channel amp to power it. I know the wiring is shotty, so I know i'm more than likely going to have to run all new wiring through this beast...

    What?

You're trying to power two BTL's with a 2 channel and 4 channel amp?

Please tell your friend that he needs to sell his BTL's to me because it seems he has no idea what the hell he is doing.

NO, I said the MAIN 0 Ga wire that goes from the battery to the 2 chan sub amp, has an 8 ga going from the sub amp to the 4 channel... Short wires i guess so cut corners to power everything... THE MA Audio amp is capable of delivering 4400 watts rms at .5 ohm.. The protection light wont go away..

I think it's a legit question. The amp works at 2 ohm. At .5 ohm it doesn't. HMMMM MA audio is not known for its performance, reliability, or living up to the manufacturer claims.

You need to upgrade your wire according to how many amps you amplifier is drawing. TRUE 1/0 gauge copper wire can handle 300 amps.

Btls aren't actually wired for .5 because since this isn't your first rodeo, you know that 2 ohm btls are closer to 1.7 ohms per coil.
You knew that though, and of course you have a multimeter to check too.

first off, I don't give a **** if your an electrician. Plenty of us on the forums know enough.
And I think that amps .5 ohm stable stereo, not .5 ohm mono if I'm looking at the right one.
MA Audio HK802SX - 2-Channel Car Amplifier Power Amp - Sonic Electronix

No, .5 ohm stable stereo not mono, 1 ohm stable mono
