Seriosly need help with putting together 1200 watt amp

IM gonna buy a Kicker 1200.1 amp that goes down to 1 ohm and a Clarus CL440. The Clarus will be to an 8 gauge but what bout the Kicker 1200.1. People say a 1/0 others say a 4. Which shall i use and should i get a distribution block and a capacitor......all that stuff just confuses the hell outta me.

    Thx guys

You can get by with a 4 gauge if you so desire. If 1/0 is not that much more or if you want to do it right the first time (or expect changes to the system) then 1/0 is recommended. If you have two amps to connect then a distribution block is recommended. If a cap is in your future (it should be and maybe an alternator as well) then consider the cap distribution block from Lightning Audio, model # LL10db (if memory is correct). This distribution block allows up to a 1/0 input for power and ground and then 2 1/0 and 2 4 gauge outputs for both power and ground. It is also the mount for a cap. This knocks of 3 birds with one stone.

    Yeah, whatever

Chances are that you will be fine with a good battery and a cap, if you buy a cap that has a digital voltage monitor on it, it will give you good idea with what is going on with your electrical system. Add the alternator if you need it, do not assume that you need it.

    Yeah, whatever
