whats the best way to screw screws into the metal of your car

i made a box to hold my battery and i want to screw the box into the metal in my trunk so it doesnt move i bought some metal screws at lowes i just dont think my drill would make them go threw how do u guys do it

Check whats on the other side of the sheetmetal first. Pilot hole, then screw....or drill a hole and insert bolt with washers and nut.

1st off know what is beyond what you can see so you do not drill into the gas tank or into a wiring harness, or fuel or brake line or spare tire

after you confirm that your safe to drill

use a drill bit smaller then the screw to drill a pilot hole

then screw your screw in and only go 1/2 way

finish off by hand screwdriver as not to strip the hole out

do not use screws that are longer then you actually need and use a washer

not one for wood or concrete

i heard if you use a diamond drill bit it will do threw anything

if your not comfortable doing it grab a friend or a neighbor that has a bit more experience help you
