Lincoln LS system question

OK ill be driving around in my parents 2003 Lincoln LS V8 with Navigation and THX audio system (prety kick *** for stock). I want to put a JL 12 W7 in the H.O. Wedge box from JL with a 500/1 or 1000/1 JL amp undecided. I was wondering how the install would be with the sub and amp connected to the head unit I got. Also i would be getting a bass controller. Finally, I dont think i will even have to touch the stock 2 8's that it has. Correct me if im wrong. Thanks for the help.

you shouldnt have to touch the 8's. what type of head unit do you have?

Its a stock head unit, Navigation touch screen motorized in dash 6 disk. im hoping i could connect everything to that without a problem

yes you can, i would go with the 1000/1, in reality, the 550 or so the 500/1 puts out, isn't really going to drive the w7 to the max, and theres no reason to half *** it if you are going to spend tha tkind amoney. But all you would do is get a line level convertor (speaker wires to rcas) and find the actual speaker wires that come from the stock hu, which could take some work, but after that, you're home free, good luck, I love those cars.
