mounting amp on sub box ?

is it not good to mount a amplifier on a subwoofer box because i dont have that much room space in my jeep so i was gonna add two extra 3/5" mdf boards on top of my subwoofer box and and them mount my amps on top of that so wondering if that would be ok because some people say it will hurt the amp so looking for some advice

There is nothing wrong with doing that, however, it does make an all inclusive package for potential thieves.

IMO... better to not do it... depending on your system i probably won't be a huge deal or anything but in gerenal I say bad idea...

Re: mounting amp on sub box ?

Just make sure to brace your enclosure accordingly. If you do that, mounting the amp to the enclosure is okay...

Re: mounting amp on sub box ?

i did that with my old set up and my subs rattled the amps so i had to turn down the volume bc they were rattlin so much it'd **** me off. but it mightve just been how they were mount/box.

I'll agree. As long as your box isn't sliding around w/your amp(s) mounted to it.. you're fine.

Re: mounting amp on sub box ?

I think the bigger concern would be to mount them to the bare box, but since you're pre-mounting them to their own piece of mdf, I think you'd be straight.

I have a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's in one of those prefabs.

    It's a decent bedside table.
